Radiohead tosses out an old track from OK Computer days. For the OK Computer 20th anniversary the band will release its reissue OKNOTOK 1997-2017. It's a sad strummer. Interesting that Thom Yorke doesn't like fans protesting Radiohead's upcoming Israel performance, artist from Thruston Moore (Sonic Youth) to Roger Waters have called on the band to not play in Israel because of its policies toward the Palestinian population. In April, the band were petitioned by numerous artists and activists Moore, TV on the Radio’s Tunde Adebimpe, and Waters to “think again” about their performance. “Please do what artists did in South Africa’s era of oppression: stay away, until apartheid is over,” the letter read. "Some artists wear their hearts on their sleeves. ZULUZULUU wear their entire beings for all to see. They’re not a band. They’re not a crew. They’re not a collective. They’re a Tribe. Hailing from Minneapolis, their sound is a cauldron of influences drawn from the very best the city has to offer. The fierce funkiness of Prince. The gospel tidings of Sounds of Blackness. The unbridled enthusiasm of The Replacements. The un-exhaustive flow of Atmosphere."- by Chris Lackhy
“A producers’ supergroup of sorts, ZULUZULUU has been synthesizing and streamlining enough collectivized inspiration (their covers album The Cover Up spans from The Stylistics to DJ Quik) to stand out as a more hip-hop-indebted heir to the classic ’80s Minneapolis sound—the classic DIY funk roots fused with a sample-searching cratedigger’s ear.”- Nate Patrin (Bandcamp)

“A producers’ supergroup of sorts, ZULUZULUU has been synthesizing and streamlining enough collectivized inspiration (their covers album The Cover Up spans from The Stylistics to DJ Quik) to stand out as a more hip-hop-indebted heir to the classic ’80s Minneapolis sound—the classic DIY funk roots fused with a sample-searching cratedigger’s ear.” — Nate Patrin (Bandcamp.com)
“While ZuluZuluu’s “What’s the Price?” was loaded with infectious cosmic grooves good for tuning out the din of 2016, the lyrics offered an alert, visionary, utopian exploration of African-American identity and art in a year that saw race issues boil up locally and nationally.” — Chris Riemenschneider (Star Tribune)
“The members of the Afro-Future collective had the audience in the palms of their hands, and when they called for everyone to put their hands in the air, nearly everyone in the crowd obliged. This moment was one of the most magical of the night; feeling an entire group of music listeners come together to let loose and celebrate great music.” — Hannah Bubser (89.3 The Current)
